What Is Age Regression & Little Space? A Gentle Introduction
By The Nursery ยท July 3, 2026
A warm, judgment-free introduction to age regression, little space, and caregiver/little relationships for the curious.
If you've found your way here, you might be wondering what "age regression" or "little space" actually means โ and whether it's okay to feel drawn to it. The short answer: yes, it's okay, and you are not alone.
Age regression is simply the experience of letting your mind settle into a younger, softer headspace. For many adults it's a way to rest, to feel safe, to set down the weight of being a grown-up for a little while. Some people slip into it naturally when they're tired or overwhelmed; others choose it deliberately as a form of comfort and self-care.
"Little space" is the name a lot of people give to that headspace โ the cozy, unguarded, playful place where colouring, soft blankets, stuffed animals, and gentle routines feel good. A "little" is a person who spends time there. A "caregiver" is someone who lovingly looks after a little โ offering structure, comfort, encouragement, and safety.
None of this requires a partner. Plenty of people regress solo, using it purely as a tool for calm. And for those who do share it with someone, the caregiver/little relationship is built on the same things any healthy relationship is: consent, trust, communication, and care.
It's normal to feel a little shy or unsure at first. Many people carry shame about it before they realise how common and how gentle it really is. Take your time. There's no test to pass and no "right way" to be little.
